KARACHI – Journalist Nasrullah Khan Chaudhry, arrested earlier this month for allegedly possessing banned literature, has been granted bail.
Dawn.com reported that an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday accepted the bail.
The Counter-Terrorism Department alleges that the journalist, who works for Nai Baat newspaper was carrying literature on Afghan jihad and the Punjabi Taliban.
Dawn said that the journalist's lawyer, Advocate Muhammad Farooq, argued that the CTD did not have any proof against Chaudhry.
The court ordered the journalist to submit Rs100,000 as a bail bond.
