Mubarak Zeb Khan elected RIUJ president
Mubarak Zeb Khan, a senior journalist, has been elected unopposed as the president of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists. His priorities include addressing wage issues and job security for journalists.

ISLAMABAD – Senior economic journalist Mubarak Zeb Khan has been elected president of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) unopposed.

The slot for the president fell vacant after Afzal Butt got elected as the president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) in March this year.

The elections for the position of president were to be held on August 20. However, rival candidates withdrew their nominations.

Khan told JournalismPakistan.com his priority would be to address such issues as non-implementation of Wage Board, seek job security for journalists, and health insurance etc.

He said he would also focus on issues journalists face in the electronic media.
