Karachi journalists protest Geo ban
Journalists in Karachi protested in front of PEMRA, demanding the return of Geo Television's broadcast. They opposed media restrictions and called for immediate action.

KARACHI: Journalists in Karachi held a protest in front of electronic media's regulatory authority, PEMRA Thursday demanding resumption of Geo Television's transmission reportedly unavailable to viewers across several major cities.

 

The protesters chanted slogans in favor of Geo and made it clear that any curbs on the media would be opposed.

 

President of Karachi Union of Journalists, G.M. Jamali, Secretary General PFUJ Khursheed Abbassi and Karachi Press Club Secretary Amir Latif made speeches and called for bringing Geo back on air within two days.
