Journalists stand by BOL staff, says KPC president

KARACHI: Journalists and members of the civil society held a protest Wednesday in front of Karachi Press Club against conspiracies being hatched to prevent BOL News hitting the airwaves. The protesters carried placards and banners inscribed with different slogans like, “Bol Ko Bolne Do,” “stop hatching conspiracies against BOL.” Addressing the gathering, KPC President Fazil Jamili said that all working journalists are standing by BOL staff at this difficult time. “We won’t let any conspiracy against BOL succeed,” he said, urging all journalists to stand by the staff and management of the upcoming channel. Members from the civil society said the government should carry out fair probe into allegations of fake diplomas issued by Axact, the parent company of BOL, but refrain from interfering in operations of the channel. They also announced to set up a permanent camp in front of KPC to continue their protest till the channel is launched.
