JournalismPakistan cofounder Stephen Webb releases Dusk memoir
JournalismPakistan cofounder and chief editor Stephen Webb publishes 'Dusk,' a poetic memoir that reflects on memory, faith, and Punjab’s fading villages, shaped by over four decades in journalism.

QUEEN CREEK, Arizona — Stephen Reynolds Webb, also known as Manuel, cofounder and chief editor of JournalismPakistan, has published his latest book, Dusk. This memoir blends poetry, memory, and reflection into an intimate literary work.

The book is set against the fading light of Punjab’s villages, where personal recollections intersect with folklore, faith, and the quiet presence of history, creating a reflective narrative rooted in place and time.

A memoir shaped by memory and place

In Dusk, Webb moves fluidly between myth and lived experience, crafting scenes in which saints pray beneath wild plum trees and the wind carries forgotten songs. The writing dissolves boundaries between past and present, offering a meditation on belonging and impermanence.

Rather than following a conventional chronological structure, the memoir relies on atmosphere and imagery to explore childhood, belief, and loss. It captures both the ache and beauty of a world slipping quietly into the night.

A long career in journalism

Webb brings more than 45 years of experience in journalism to his literary work. He began his career at The Muslim, later joining The Pakistan Times and The News in Islamabad, before expanding his professional footprint internationally. His career includes roles at Khaleej Times, Dubai Television, and CNBC Pakistan. He also headed two USAID-funded projects as a media manager, contributing to journalism development and capacity-building initiatives.

From newsroom to literary reflection

Now residing in Queen Creek, Arizona, Webb continues to write, which has been a passion. Dusk marks a shift from daily journalism to a deeply personal literary expression shaped by decades of observation and reporting.

The book is available for purchase on Amazon, reaching readers interested in literary nonfiction influenced by South Asian landscapes and a lifetime in journalism.
