Hum News journalist Tariq Mehmood dies from coronavirus
Tariq Mehmood Malik, a respected journalist with Hum News, passed away after a battle with coronavirus. He was known for his sincere dedication to his profession.

ISLAMABAD—Senior Hum News journalist Tariq Mehmood Malik passed away on Thursday after contracting coronavirus.

He remained hospitalized for several days battling the deadly virus but was later put on a ventilator after his condition worsened.

According to journalist Mohsin Raza Khan, Mehmood belonged to Talagang, Chakwal. He studied journalism at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and then did his M.Phil.

Khan says Mehmood joined Jang newspaper as a reporter and moved to the electronic media on his advice, joining ARY News. He quickly made his place at the organization through hard work and anchored the program ‘Meri Awaz Suno’ during the 2008 elections.

After his stint at ARY, he joined Hum News as a senior reporter.

His colleagues remember him as a sincere individual and a thorough professional.
