Hamid Mir calls for protection of female journalists in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD—Prominent anchor Hamid Mir has urged Afghan Taliban to ensure physical protection of female journalists in Afghanistan.
He said in a tweet: "Now Taliban are controlling all important cities of Afghanistan including Kabul. Some female journalists complaining about threats."
According to him, it is the responsibility of Taliban to provide female journalists physical security and also allow them to work.
Mir, while tagging the Taliban spokesperson Sohail Shaheen in his tweet, also shared the story link of Guardian under the title: 'We see silence filled with fear’: female Afghan journalists plead for help.
