Geo News Executive Producer Zubair Anjum abducted

KARACHI—Zubair Anjum, who works with Geo News as an executive producer, was taken away by unknown men early Tuesday morning, BBC Urdu said.

Saadat Ali, brother of Anjum, told BBC Urdu that at 1:00 am, unknown men, some in police uniform and others with their faces covered, came to their house and took away Anjum.

According to Ali, the armed men loudly asked who sent money to Zubair Anjum, who was sleeping then.

Though the report of Anjum going missing has been registered with the police station in district Korangi, police expressed no knowledge about such an incident, saying they had not arrested him.

Ali says the police have asked him to wait a day before registering a First Information Report (FIR).

In a tweet, journalist Wajih Sani condemned the incident and demanded Anjum's immediate release.
