ISLAMABAD - In all the hullaballoo of the PTI victory in Pakistan’s general election, the win of Jugnu Mohsin (born Syeda Maimanat Mohsin), wife of Najam Sethi from a Punjab Assembly seat has almost gone unnoticed.

Mohsin won the Punjab Assembly seat from PP-184, Okara, as an independent candidate. Securing 62506 votes, she easily beat another independent Syed Raza Ali Gilani, who got 41068 votes.

In its special issue on the general elections, Herald reported that “PMLN is supporting an independent Lahore-based journalist Jugnu Mohsin, who is also the wife of Pakistan Cricket Board’s chief Najam Sethi. Her father’s family has also remained active in Okara’s district politics in the past.”

Mohsin is the co-founder and editor of The Friday Times and from 2016, hosts a weekly talk show ‘Jugnu on Geo News’.
