Zahid Gishkori of The Express Tribune has been awarded the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship for 2014. He credits JournalismPakistan.com for keeping him informed about such opportunities.

ISLAMABAD: Zahid Gishkori of The Express Tribune says that being chosen for the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship is like a dream come true.

"It' has been my dream to become an Alfred Friendly Fellow; this is a great honor for me and is surely a dream come true," he said.

Gishkori has been selected for the 2014 program along with Arshad Dogar who works for The News and Kiran Nazish, a free-lance journalist.

He credits JournalismPakistan.com for winning what is his fifth career fellowship. “Had it not been for JournalismPakistan.com, I would have never known about these opportunities."

“This marvelous website keeps me updated on the upcoming fellowships and that is exactly what I want. JP provides new windows of opportunities for young journalists like me and also initiates debate on issues in journalism.”

Gishkori has previously worked for INP, PPI, Pakistan Observer and The Nation besides undergoing a brief internship at Dawn.
