LAHORE—The Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cyber Crime Reporting Center has summoned senior journalist Rizwan Ur Rehman, popularly known as Rizwan Razi, for allegedly conducting a social media campaign against the judiciary.
The FIA's letter to Rehman states, "It has been found that you are intentionally and publicly involved in a highly obnoxious and intimidating campaign against the highest judiciary of the State of Pakistan on social media."
The FIA has asked the journalist to record his statement on July 26 at its Gulberg office to ensure a fair trial process.
In February 2019, the FIA arrested Rehman for violating the country's cybercrime law. The agency accused him of tweeting against state agencies despite prior warnings and a submitted apology. However, a court released him on bail the following day.
