Cricket historian Dr. Nauman Niaz joins JournalismPakistan as sports editor

As the official Historian of Pakistan cricket, Dr. Niaz authored the monumental "Fluctuating Fortunes," a four-volume work spanning 4,768 pages that chronicles Pakistan's cricket history. His prolific writing career includes over 3,500 articles published in prestigious publications worldwide, including the Wisden Almanack, Sydney Herald, The Hindu, Saudi Gazette, and Khaleej Times.

Dr. Niaz's academic credentials are equally impressive, holding fellowships from multiple Royal Colleges of Physicians in the UK and Ireland, a PhD from the University of Western Australia, and a Post Doctorate from the University of Oxford. His unique combination of medical expertise and sports journalism has brought a distinctive analytical approach to cricket coverage.

His extensive broadcasting experience includes collaborations with leading networks such as ESPN, TenSports, Television NZ, and Star India. In his career, Dr. Niaz has shared the commentary box with legendary broadcasters including Tony Cozier, Christopher Martin Jenkins, and Richie Benaud.

Adding to his credentials, Dr. Niaz maintains one of the world's largest personal collections of cricket memorabilia, including 8,500 cricket books dating back to the 1780s and match-played bats of cricket legends from Sir Donald Bradman to contemporary stars like Virat Kohli.
