Courageous and Ethical Journalism Award for Asma

ISLAMABAD: Television talk show host Asma Shirazi has won the 2014 Peter Mackler Award for Courageous and Ethical Journalism. The award ceremony will take place at National Press Club in Washington DC on October 23, 2014.

Asma is a popular anchor currently associated with DawnNews Television which she joined from Samaa TV in August 2012. She has also previosuly worked for Geo and ARY channels. According to http://www.pmaward.org/, Asma is Pakistan’s first female war correspondent. Undeterred by threats and personal risk, she has demonstrated courage, professionalism and dedication in the search for the truth.
