Balochistan journalists stage walkout to protest downsizing
Balochistan journalists staged a protest against media downsizing during an assembly session. They called for immediate measures to address the forcible terminations of staff.

QUETTA - Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) staged a walkout from the press gallery during the provincial assembly’s session to protest the massive downsizing of journalists by different TV channels and newspapers.

They gathered in front of the assembly to mark their protest.

A team of government and opposition members headed by Provincial Minister Asad Baloch and opposition member Ahmed Nawaz Baloch met the protesters.

Khalil Ahmed, President of BUJ informed them about the serious situation due to the forcible terminations of media workers. He said this downsizing should be stopped.

The team of opposition and government members assured the protesting journalists all help and cooperation in resolving the matter. They said a joint resolution would be moved in the house on the issue of the downsizing.
