PEMRA warns Awaz TV
PEMRA has cautioned Awaz TV for airing inappropriate scenes in its drama Nijaat. The content was deemed offensive and against societal values.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a warning to Awaz TV for showing murder and smoking scenes in its drama serial Nijaat.

A PEMRA press release said Wednesday the content aired was found highly offensive, promoting violence and against social and cultural values of society.

The regulator said that by airing such content the channel violated PEMRA laws and the Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015.

The channel was told to be vigilant in future and comply with PEMRA laws in letter and spirit.
