ISLAMABAD – Three reporters at The Express Tribune in Islamabad have resigned while a fourth is leaving next week – an indication all may not be well at the paper.
Insiders tell JournalismPakistan.com that Maryam Usman, Obaidur Rehman and Qamar Zaman have all quit after landing better jobs elsewhere. On the other hand Peer Muhammad who covers commerce and trade, will bid farewell on December 8.
All four had joined the paper almost six years ago and were prompted to quit because of an uncertain situation in office.
In September, The Express Tribune laid off around 30 employees of their city desks at four centers just days after Fahd Husain replaced Kamal Siddiqi as the editor.
