Express Media Group to re-launch English language TV channel
The Express Media Group plans to re-launch its English-language television channel, which was shut down in 2011. It remains unclear if the channel will retain its original name, Express 24/7.

ISLAMABAD – The Express Media Group is to re-launch soon an English language television channel it had shut down in late 2011.

There are confirmed reports of an impending re-launch but it is not clear if the group will return with the same Express 24/7 name.

Express 24/7 was first launched in February 2009 and became the second English language channel in Pakistan after DawnNews.

However, DawnNews shunned English and switched to broadcasting in Urdu in 2010. This left Express 24/7 as the only channel broadcasting in English for well over a year.

The Express 24/7 owners closed shop citing economic conditions and insufficient advertisements.
