PFUJ election schedule announced
The PFUJ Election Committee has announced a detailed schedule for the upcoming elections in Peshawar on August 27. Candidates can submit their nominations beginning July 27.

ISLAMABAD: Rahimullah Yusufzai, chairman of PFUJ Election Committee on Monday announced the formation of a five-member election committee for holding the PFUJ elections in Peshawar on August 27.

The other four members of the Election Committee are Shahid ur Rehman (a member of PFUJ Unification Committee from Islamabad), Abdullah Jan, Farzana Ali and Kashifuddin Syed, all members of the Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ).

Meanwhile, in a meeting the Election Committee announced following schedule: Filing of nomination papers from July 27 to August 7 (2400 hours midnight);

List of nominations to be sent to affiliated UJs on August 8;

Scrutiny of nomination papers from August 9 to 10;

List of nominees after scrutiny to be sent to secretaries of UJs on August 11;

Representation against the decisions of Election Committee (EC) on August 12;

Final decision by EC on objections to be released on August 13;

Provisional list of candidates for display on August 14;

Withdrawal of nomination papers to be received until 2400 hours on August 25;

Final list of candidates to be displayed on August 26

Polling on August 27 from 0012hr to 2100hrs.
