Geo sacks three in Islamabad
Geo TV has fired three journalists from its Islamabad office, including two reporters and a desk staffer with over four years of service. The move follows earlier layoffs in Islamabad, Geo Super and downsizing at the network’s Karachi headquarters.

ISLAMABAD: After a brief lull, the management of Geo TV was at it again Saturday, firing three journalists from its Islamabad office. Those sacked include two reporters and a desk man who had each been with the channel for more than four years. In April, the management had laid off its director programs and four producers, also from Islamabad centre. Also in April, 16 staffers at sports channel Geo Super that included an editor, anchors and sub-editors were shown the door. The managers had gone for a major round of downsizing at their Karachi headquarters in March shutting down the Current Affairs and Creative Departments. Back in 2010, Geo gave 80 employees the sack.
