Long-serving sub of The News to quit
Ghulam Hussain has announced his resignation from The News after two decades of service. He cited ongoing low pay as his reason for leaving.

ISLAMABAD: Ghulam Hussain, a long-serving sub at The News, Rawalpindi is to quit after spending 21 years with the organization.

He told JournalismPakistan.com he had decided to resign because of continual low pay. However, he did not say where he was headed.

Hussain has had two stints with the newspaper after joining in 1991, the year when it first came out. He left in 1998 only to rejoin in 2000.

Previously he worked for NNI and KPI news agencies and is one of the founding members of Internews.
