Najam Sethi has stepped aside from the ICC presidency, calling for the nomination of a former Test cricketer. This decision comes as part of a move to honor cricketing legends from Pakistan.

It is a great honour that I shall always cherish,” Sethi wrote to the ICC. The ICC was to consider Sethi’s appointment later this month at a board meeting in Barbados.
