CPNE elects new office-bearers
The CPNE held a meeting in Lahore to elect its new office-bearers, with Kazim Khan leading as president. The council raised concerns regarding advertisement distribution and the impact on newspapers.

LAHORE—The Standing Committee of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), in a meeting held at Lahore, has elected Group Editor Daily Times, Kazim Khan, as its president.

The Council also elected Group Editor Express Newspapers Ayaz Khan as senior vice president, Amir Mahmood as secretary-general, and Yousuf Nizami as deputy secretary-general. The Council strongly condemned the unjust distribution of advertisements and raids on the printing presses, demanding immediate clearance of newspaper arrears.
