PESHAWAR: Journalists in Peshawar have condemned an attack in Upper Dir on Wari Press Club, burnt by protestors angered by an anti-Islam film.
Journalists at the club were also reportedly held hostage as scattered protests continued in parts of the country.
The Peshawar Press Club termed the incident an attack on the freedom of press and said setting the club on fire showed there were miscreants among the protestors.
President Saiful Islam Saifi and General Secretary Nasir Hussain wondered why the journalists were being punished for the sacrilegious film. They called upon the authorities in Dir to apprehend the perpetrators and give them exemplary punishment.
