Iftikhar Ahmad quits Dunya News
Iftikhar Ahmad has left Dunya News, where he had a brief tenure since June. His resignation follows concerns over the coverage of recent by-elections.

ISLAMABAD: Prominent and hard-hitting anchor Iftikhar Ahmad has quit Dunya News Television just over three months after joining the channel from BOL News.

He said in a tweet he had resigned on October 12 after the by-election results for personal reasons. Ahmad termed his short stay at Dunya as "another historical experience" and wished the channel good luck. However, insiders tell JournalismPakistan.com he was asked to resign after the management found his and his team's by-election coverage not satisfactory .

Ahmad, once a prominent name on Geo gained fame through his program Jawab Deh. In October 2014 he joined BOL News as Executive Vice President and Senior Anchor but walked away soon after the fake degree scandal hit BOL and its parent company Axact.

At Dunya where he signed up in June this year, he hosted the program Badal Dou.
