Journalist, poetess and film writer Rukhsana Noor passes away
Rukhsana Noor, a prominent figure in journalism and literature, has passed away at the age of 58 in Lahore. She was married to esteemed film director Syed Noor and was known for her contributions to both film and poetry.

LAHORE - Rukhsana Noor, a journalist, poetess, film writer and producer passed away in Lahore Thursday following a prolonged illness. She was 58.

She was the wife of famous film director, producer and script writer Syed Noor.

The News reported that she had blood cancer for several years. She was admitted to a local hospital after undergoing treatment in the US.

After completing her Masters in Mass Communications from the University of the Punjab, Rukhsana joined Jang newspaper as feature writer in 1980.  Back then she was Rukhsana Arzoo. She got married to Syed Noor in 1984.

She wrote stories for various hit feature films, including the super-hit Punjabi movie Choorian. She also penned lyrics for films and compiled a collection of her film songs titled Aa Pyar Dil Mein Jaga. She also published her poetry in book form named Ilham.

Rukhsana also served as teacher in the Punjab University and received various awards for her contribution to films and literature.
