LAHORE: There was firing at the Lahore residence of Dunya TV anchor Muhammad Malick Saturday in which he remained unhurt, reports said. His car reportedly got damaged in the attack that came just days after he announced his show Dunya @ 8 with Malick was to go off air. Hours later Malick said in a tweet: “Grateful to friends for expressing concern over the firing incident at my house a few hours back. Everyone was safe. God bless you all.” Although he cited an English newspaper he has been asked to bring out by his employers as the reason for his program’s discontinuation, many people think this is not true. They point out it is mainly because of ‘pressure’ after he did a program critical of the army. On Friday Malick tweeted: “Anchoring of principles is way more important than anchoring any show. Never bowed to any pressure before -no matter what hue - and never will.”
