Police arrest prime suspect in journalist's murder
Punjab police have apprehended Amir Butt, the main suspect in the murder of journalist Hasnain Shah. The arrest occurred during a raid related to a financial dispute.

LAHORE - Punjab police have arrested the prime suspect involved in the murder of TV reporter Hasnain Shah gunned dead outside the Lahore Press Club on Monday.

The police on Wednesday conducted a raid at a car showroom on Jail Road and arrested Amir Butt, the proprietor of Gold Asia Jewelers.

According to sources, the journalist was killed because of a financial dispute with a jeweler in the provincial capital. The police, however, said the investigation is underway.

The police had earlier also arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the journalist's killing.

Hasnain was in his car outside the press club when the suspects, riding a motorcycle, intercepted him and fired shots, killing him on the spot.

Hasnain was a crime reporter for Capital TV and a member of Lahore Press Club.
