Fereeha Idrees and team join Abb Takk
Fereeha Idrees, a prominent journalist, has transitioned from Waqt News to Abb Takk Television. She will take over a significant time slot for current affairs programming.
ISLAMABAD: Popular anchorperson and columnist Fereeha Idrees, has quit Waqt News and joined Abb Takk Television along with her producer, researcher and content producer.
She hosted a current affairs program “8pm with Fareeha Idrees” on Waqt News.
A source told JournalismPakistan.com that Fereeha's one month notice to Waqt News management expires on April 4 and she would join Abb Takk News on April 6.
Her producer Atif, researcher and coordinator Rizwan Yousuf and content producer Raja Rizwan have also quit are ready to take up their new jobs at Abb Takk.
Fereeha will take the slot of Jasmeen Manzoor for her current affairs program as the latter recently joined BOL News which is yet to gpo on air.
Fereeha started her journalistic career in the United Kingdom by joining a popular women's magazine. Later on, she worked with The Guardian, BBC, Channel 4, The Daily Mirror and wrote extensively for many publications in Pakistan and Europe.
She also worked as a spokesperson for the Muslim Council of Britain. She holds a post graduate degree in Broadcast and Print Journalism from the University of Westminster, UK.
Fereeha has also been associated with CNBC Pakistan as Bureau Chief and hosted an 8pm show named 'Islamabad Sey'. Then she moved to Samaa TV and conducted a current affairs show 'News Beat' there before switching to Waqt News.
