Geo man Khawar Naeem Hashmi quits, joins BOL
Khawar Naeem Hashmi has resigned from his position at Geo News to take on a new role at BOL News. He aims to utilize his journalistic skills in a more impactful way.
ISLAMABAD: Khawar Naeem Hashmi, senior journalist and Bureau Chief Geo News Lahore, has quit the channel and joined BOL News as Senior Executive Vice President.
Hashmi is regarded as one of the finest broadcast journalists and is expected to help BOL pick a good team for its Lahore bureau office. Talking to JournalismPakistan.com, he said he was fully briefed by the BOL management on its upcoming news channel and all other ventures before he decided to join them.
“I am not after designations; I’m a working journalist and will try to contribute to BOL News as per my capacity,” he said.
He said that he was well aware of all the programs and ventures of the upcoming channel and would help the managers roll out a quality product.
Hashmi said that he decided to part ways with the Geo as he was more involved in administrative work there instead of utilizing his journalistic skills to come up with good stuff.
“I hope BOL News will provide me a platform where I could use and hone my journalistic skills instead of indulging in administrative work,” he said.
