LAHORE: Dunya Television has sparked controversy by dismissing 12 employees from their Lahore office, purportedly to accommodate new hires on more lucrative packages. The sacked employees include assistant producers, translators, and other support staff, prompting concerns about job security within the media group.

Speculation mounts that similar layoffs may occur at Dunya Television's associated newspaper, Roznama Dunya, as part of broader restructuring efforts.

Earlier in May, the management of Roznama Dunya terminated four reporters in Islamabad without providing any explanation, adding to the uncertainty among staff.

These developments have drawn attention to ongoing challenges faced by media professionals in Pakistan, amidst fluctuating job security and employment practices.
