$10,000 award for journalists defending the rule of law
The $10,000 award honors journalists who defend the rule of law globally. Nominations are open until March 2, 2025, to recognize impactful reporting.

Journalism plays a vital role in upholding the rule of law, holding power to account, and safeguarding rights. With over 6 billion people living in nations where the rule of law has weakened, recognizing journalists’ efforts has never been more critical. Nominations are open worldwide, including self-nominations. Entries must be in English or translated accordingly.

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Anthony Lewis (1927-2013) transformed legal journalism. His coverage of the U.S. Supreme Court and international justice inspired the World Justice Project. His legacy continues through this prize, celebrating fearless reporting in pursuit of justice.
