Matiullah Jan has been dismissed from Waqt News after six years. He thanked his colleagues and stated his last show was aired on Twitter.

ISLAMABAD – Waqt News has fired prominent journalist Matiullah Jan who hosted the program Apna Apna Gareban.

Mati who was with the Waqt TV for six years was gracious in his difficult hour. He thanked his organization, colleagues, and team for the respect and recognition he said he earned because of them.

He announced his sacking on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Got my marching orders after 6 years of association with @Waqtnewstv . My last show @apnaapnagareban is on air NOW. I had the honour of doing my last show with Makhdoom Javed Hashmi. I thank my organisation, colleagues & team for the respect and recognition I got because of them.”

Although Mati made no mention of the reason for his sacking, some people think it may have something to do with his program’s ratings.
