Regulator PEMRA bans BOL TV's TickTock Show
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has imposed a ban on BOL TV's Tick Tock Show due to complaints about its content. This action follows earlier warnings to the channel.

ISLAMABAD–Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned the BOL TV program Tick Tock Show for airing immoral, indecent, and Indian-inspired content.

The regulator said it took action after receiving complaints against the show on the Pakistan Citizens Portal and PEMRA's social media accounts.

Earlier, PEMRA had told the channel to review the content of the show and tailor it to meet "Pakistani values." However, BOL made no changes that led to the ban under Section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002.

On Friday, PEMRA also banned ARY Digital play Jalan over indecent content.

KEY POINTS:

  • PEMRA banned Tick Tock Show for airing immoral and indecent content.
  • Complaints were lodged via the Pakistan Citizens Portal and social media.
  • BOL TV failed to revise content despite previous warnings from PEMRA.
  • The ban comes under Section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002.
  • PEMRA also banned ARY Digital's Jalan for similar content issues.
