PEMRA praises media houses for 'balanced and unbiased' coverage' of polls
PEMRA has praised the broadcast media for its balanced reporting during the recent general elections in Pakistan. The authority noted the cooperation from media houses in adhering to the established Code of Conduct.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has appreciated what it said was “balanced and unbiased transmission” of the general elections by the broadcast media.

“PEMRA appreciates cooperation and unprecedented support of private broadcast media, extended in making election process smooth and fruitful. Except for 2/3 events, all media houses observed Code of Conduct set out by the Election Commission of Pakistan as well as directives issued by PEMRA, from time to time,” the regulator said in a media release.

PEMRA said it was a defining moment for Pakistan’s broadcast industry which is receiving accolades, not only locally but also internationally for its unbiased and balanced coverage.
