PEMRA notice to Jaag for terminating staff unlawfully
The Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a show-cause notice to Jaag TV for alleged unlawful employee terminations. The complaint was filed by Naeem Tahir, highlighting violations of contractual obligations.

ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA Wednesday issued a show-cause notice to Jaag TV for allegedly terminating employees unlawfully.

A media release said the notice was served on a complaint filed by Naeem Tahir, a senior producer at the channel, who was terminated along with several others.

He pointed out that the management had termed these forced terminations as simple resignations. This, he said was a violation of the contract and meant denying journalists their basic rights.

The regulator has given Jaag seven days to respond to the notice. The channel’s CEO is required to appear for a personal hearing on August 2, the release said.
