Mehr Sher leaves NewsOne to work on new projects

ISLAMABAD – Mehr Sher, the smiling young American-Pakistani host of the program Live with Dr. Shahid Masood on NewsOne TV has quit, and plans to start work on new projects.

On Saturday, Masood welcomed the new host of his program, Naila Ali. He said she was the sixth presenter he was working with since 2001.

Mehr arrived at NewsOne in early 2017 along with the doc after a stint at BOL News. He wished Mehr well and prayed for her bright future.

In a video shared on Twitter, Mehr said she arrived in Pakistan from America after completing her bachelor’s degree in May 2015. She was born and grew up in the United States.

She got her first break in PTV where she worked for a year and a half. She termed that time as difficult. “But I learned a lot from the experiences there, and they helped me later on in my career.”

“My second break was when I auditioned for Live with Dr. Shahid Masood and got selected, and that too at a time when my Urdu was below par, and I did not have much grasp over Pakistani politics,” she said in the video.

She thanked Masood and his team for supporting her all through.

“Now I am ready to start the next part of my journey that will feature many new and interesting projects, a part of which is YouTube. I will use this platform from now on, and I want you all to support me on this journey.”
