Journalists in Peshawar protest layoffs
On Tuesday, journalists in Peshawar protested against layoffs by news organizations. They called for action from the provincial Information Minister, emphasizing ongoing struggles.

PESHAWAR – Journalists on Tuesday staged a protest against the termination of employees by news organizations.

The current and former office-bearers of Peshawar Press Club were part of the protest. They shouted slogans against the owners of media houses who they said were committing economic murder of journalists.

The protesters carrying placards called on the provincial Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai to honor the promises he had made to the media workers.

The journalists said that this protest was just the start. They said a future course of action would be announced shortly.
