Samaa and Dawn staffers beaten up by mob in Islamabad
Two media personnel were assaulted while covering a protest in Islamabad. The incident occurred during commemorations for Mumtaz Qadri, leading to injuries and equipment theft.

ISLAMABAD - Two media persons were attacked by protesters observing the Chelum of Mumtaz Qadri, the man who killed Punjab Governor Salman Taseer.

 

Nawaz Ahmed, a cameraman with Samaa TV and Khurram Amin, a photographer working with Dawn were beaten up. Ahmed was filming the participants when they became violent asking him why was he filming them when the media were not giving them any coverage. Ahmed sustained injuries.

 

Amin had his camera snatched near the D-Square.
