Express Tribune Editor Kamal Siddiqi joins CEJ as Director

ISLAMABAD - Kamal Siddiqi, Editor of The Express Tribune, has joined the Institute of Business Administration as the Director of the Center of Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) in Karachi.

 

An official release said Tuesday Siddiqi had joined as of April 1, 2016. He served at the Tribune for more than six years. Before that stint, he worked with The News as editor for four years, Dawn, Dow Jones News Wire and  Asia Times in various editorial positions.

 

Siddiqi holds a Master's degree in Mass Communications from the University of Karachi and another Master's in Media Studies from the London School of Economics, the release said.

 

Dr. Sayed Ghani, Acting Dean and Director at IBA said: "I would like to welcome Mr. Kamal Siddiqi who has been appointed as the Director of the Center of Excellence in Journalism at IBA. Mr. Siddiqi brings with him 25 years of experience in journalism and was most recently the editor of The Express Tribune, a partner of the International New York Times."

 

CEJ is an initiative for professional development, training and networking of Pakistani journalists and media professionals. It was founded in 2014.
