Dawn raises price
Dawn's management announced an increase in the price of its daily newspaper from Rs22 to Rs25. This decision was driven by rising newsprint costs and the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee.

ISLAMABAD – Dawn management has increased the price of the daily newspaper from Rs22 to Rs25 because of increase in costs of newsprint.

In a front-page announcement on Friday, the paper said it was constrained to decide because newsprint prices internationally have skyrocketed. “This has been exacerbated by the continuous depreciation of the Pakistan rupee," it said.

The price of the Sunday edition was also increased from Rs33 to Rs35.

Dawn said it had attempted to keep the initial price increase of the newspaper at a modest level.
