ARY News in trouble again, faces PEMRA fine

ISLAMABAD - PEMRA's Council of Complaints, Islamabad has recommended a fine of Rs 100,000 on ARY News Television on charges of  incitement to dislodge the democratic set-up.

A press release of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority said Saturday that the Council took serious notice of the program 'Sawal Ye Hai' in which the host Dr. Danish appealed to the Army chief to take over the country and topple the democratic setup.

The Council that met in Islamabad also recommended that a warning be issued to the channel for airing objectionable comments.

In January ARY News was fined Rs100,000 for airing vulgar language in three different programs and not having time-delay system in place.
