PEMRA seeks clarification from Geo Network over suspension of transmission
PEMRA is investigating the suspension of Geo Network's channels, which included Geo News. All transmissions were halted from March 30 to April 1.

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has sought clarification from Geo Network after transmission of all their channels including Geo News remained suspended from 11:42pm on March 30 to 11:57am on April 1.

Under PEMRA laws, a licensee cannot cease or suspend transmission without force majeure or without the prior approval of the authority. Besides the flagship Geo News, transmission of the network's other channels - Geo Entertainment, Geo Kahani, Geo Tez and Geo Sports also remained suspended.

PEMRA said its Complaint Call Center had received several queries from viewers following the sudden suspension of transmission.
