Court bars Lucman from conducting programs
The Islamabad High Court has ruled against Mubashir Lucman, barring him from conducting his television programs. The decision follows complaints about his conduct and lack of action from relevant authorities.

ISLAMABAD The Islamabad High Court Wednesday barred ARY Television talk show host Mubashir Lucman from conducting programs.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui said that despite complaints filed against the presenter, neither PEMRA nor the Ministry of Information took any action.

The judge pointed out that Lucman had spoken against Jawwad S. Khawaja when he was hearing a case regarding conduct of television channels.

The court Wednesday heard the case on a petition filed by Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation.

In the plea, applicant Hafiz Ehtesham’s lawyer Tariq Asad told the court that Lucman defamed and ridiculed people during his shows and had criticized the superior judiciary.

The hearing was later adjourned with summons being issued for information secretary and chairman PEMRA.
