ISLAMABAD – The management of Capital TV illegally detained Saleem Abbas, an NLE accusing him of theft after he demanded four months of outstanding wages amounting to Rs120000.
Abbas called one of his colleagues to inform him about the incident. The word soon spread, and it led to the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) and National Press Club calling up the police who had Abbas freed.
He has filed an application with the Shalimar Police Station against his illegal detention.
Hassan Daniyal, a former employee, has also submitted an application to the police accusing the Capital TV management of threatening him of dire consequences after he asked for his pending dues of Rs220000.
