ISLAMABAD - Ansar Abbasi, Editor Investigation at The News, Wednesday demanded that the Prime Minister, Supreme Court and PEMRA cancel the licenses of TV channels which are “showing complete nudity.”
Though he did not the name the channels, in his first tweet he said: “SHAMEFUL AND SHOCKING: Some TV channels are showing complete nudity. Demand PM, SC, PEMRA to revoke the licenses of these channel.”
In another tweet he called for strict regulation of TV channels, otherwise, he added: “They are bent upon destroying our generations.”
Of late Abbasi has been regularly writing against TV channels, claiming they are promoting obscenity. In his March 27 column in Jang, he wondered when PEMRA will make female anchors wear dupattas.
