RIUJ disappointed by lawmaker's remarks against journalists
The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists has expressed disappointment over remarks by lawmaker Mian Abdul Manan targeting journalists. They call on the National Assembly speaker to address the issue.

ISLAMABAD – The Rawalpindi- Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) has expressed anger and disappointment over the attitude of a lawmaker who made insulting remarks against journalists.

In a statement, the union said that the senior parliamentarian Mian Abdul Manan’s remarks against media persons covering a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice.

“This action of a lawmaker cannot in any way be termed democratic and the way senior parliamentary reporters were insulted, is unprecedented,” the RIUJ said.

The union hoped that the speaker of National Assembly and the chairman of the committee would take notice of the incident.
