RIUJ condemns harassment of journalist Farhan Hussain by touts
The RIUJ has condemned the harassment of journalist Farhan Hussain by the tout mafia. They are urging local police to take action and reassess their inquiry into Hussain.

RAWALPINDI – The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) on Tuesday called on the city’s top police officials to take notice of the harassment of journalist Farhan Hussain by the tout mafia.

In a statement, the union said it was the duty of journalists to report on criminals, but the Sadiqabad Police has included Hussain’s name in an inquiry into a recent incident of fighting in its jurisdiction.

The RIUJ condemned this police action and said it was closely observing the matter and would soon announce its strategy to deal with it.

Hussain is a senior journalist and a RIUJ delegate.
