PFUJ demands apology from Fawad Chaudhry
The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists has demanded an apology from Fawad Chaudhry for his insulting behavior towards journalists. His derogatory remarks against Matiullah Jan were condemned, highlighting intolerance within the PTI government.

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned the insulting attitude of the former Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry (pictured) towards journalists outside the Supreme Court.

The union termed his behavior shameful and demanded an apology.

President PFUJ Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi said the minister used derogatory words against a respected journalist Matiullah Jan, hurling ridiculous allegations against him, which is highly condemnable.

The two leaders said Matiullah had asked a question which was his professional duty. "The minister had every right to decline the answer, but he had no right to bash a senior journalist who is a symbol of resistance and never compromises principles."

PFUJ leaders observed that the PTI government and its ministers turned out to be the most intolerant people who unleashed a torrent of criticism against anyone who differed with the government policies or questioned the rationale for those policies.

They demanded an apology from Chaudhry and warned that failure to do so would trigger protests. They also demanded that PTI chief Imran Khan take notice of these derogatory remarks and take action against him.
