PEMRA slaps Rs1 million fine on Geo

PEMRA has fined Geo News for comments regarding the armed forces made during a program. The fine amounts to Rs1 million following a review by the Council of Complaints.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Tuesday slapped a fine of Rs1 million on Geo News for accusing the armed force of “institutional corruption”.

A meeting of the authority at the PEMRA headquarters approved the recommendation of it Council of Complaints.
