Mohammad Malick's BMW in the picture
Mohammad Malick, a journalist, received unexpected attention on Twitter for his BMW. The car, which is over a decade old, sparked various reactions and inquiries from netizens.

ISLAMABAD – With the political atmosphere getting bitter, journalists, especially the television presenters, are also coming under scrutiny.

A photo of Mohammad Malick’s BMW on Twitter Wednesday left him “amused.” He tweeted: “amazed by the interest in my BMW that's 10years old and has clocked over 200,000Kms but yes, kept lovingly in perfect condition. Amused.”

Malick hosts a talk show on 92 News TV – Breaking News with Malick.

The photo by Hammad Khan shows Malick getting into his BMW which is without a number plate. However, the accompanying tweet with the image is not very complimentary.

Some tweeple asked the presenter to disclose his source of income while others showed interest in buying the car. Still, others asked why the BMW is without a number plate, even after ten years. Some also suggested that Malick sell it on OLX.

When Ali Salman Alvi suggested that by selling the BMW he may beat “the record set by Maryam Nawaz Sharif's BMW that was sold around 6 times of the declared price,” Malick replied: “trust me nobody will ever be that miraculously lucky.”

KEY POINTS:

  • Malick's BMW is 10 years old with over 200,000 Kms.
  • He humorously addressed interest in his car on Twitter.
  • Users questioned the absence of a number plate.
  • Some suggested he sell the car on OLX.
  • A comparison was made to Maryam Nawaz Sharif's BMW sale.
